HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c285W
Sir HERBERT NIELD

asked the Home Secretary if he will state the present meat ration per diem in force for enemy prisoners of war and interned enemy civilians, respectively, and whether for one or more meals; is the weight of the ration ascertained before or after cooking; if so, what is the reduction of weight in cooking; is bacon, game, or poultry reckoned as part of the ration; and will steps be taken to ensure that no enemy alien is permitted to receive a greater meat ration than is allowed by the Food Controller to the public?

Sir G. CAVE

I do not think I can usefully add anything to the reply which. I gave to the hon. Baronet the Member for Hawick Burghs on this subject on the 5th February. I then said that the dietary for interned alien enemies has been revised from time to time so as to conform with the rations recommended or ordered by the Ministry of Food, and is at present under reconsideration in consultation with the Ministry.
