§ Mr. ANDERSONasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is 876W aware that the Fair-Wages Clause in the contracts issued by the War Office only provides that the current wages of the district should be paid to women; and whether he will consider inserting in the contracts issued by his Department a Fair-Wages Clause similar to that now inserted by the Ministry of Munitions prescribing that the scale of wages which must be paid by controlled firms shall be paid by all firms, controlled or uncontrolled, engaged in similar work?
§ Mr. FORSTERI understand that the clause to which my hon. Friend refers has only been adopted by the Ministry of Munitions in the special case of contracts for ammunition boxes made by uncontrolled firms.
