§ Mr. FORSTERAny commemorative medal which may be sanctioned for issue to those who have served in a theatre of war will be granted to those who served at Gallipoli. The matter is under consideration, and I am afraid no issue can be made at present.
§ Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether any special recognition has been given to those officers, non-commissioned officers, and men who joined the Territorial Force in pre-war days and who volunteered for service abroad soon after the declaration of war, but are retained in this country on coast defence; and will he consider their claims to be included with the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men entitled to wear the red chevron for 1914 service?
§ Mr. FORSTERThe chevron is intended to mark the wearer as having proceeded overseas for service, and would therefore lose its point if it were allowed to be worn by men who, for whatever reason, had to remain in this country.
