HC Deb 21 March 1917 vol 91 c1937W
Captain Sir OWEN PHILIPPS

asked the Home Secretary whether he is prepared immediately to introduce a Bill giving him power to revoke certificates of naturalisation granted in this country in cases where it would be desirable in the national interest, leaving the larger question of the amendment of the naturalisation laws to be decided at the Imperial Conference?

Mr. BRACE

No, Sir. My right hon. Friend adheres to the view expressed in his answer to the hon. and learned Member for York on the 5th instant, that denaturalisation is an Imperial matter on which the opinion of the Imperial Conference ought to be taken.
