HC Deb 21 February 1917 vol 90 c1353W
Commander WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of his declaration that the colonies which were German will not be handed back to Germany, he has taken any steps to rescind earlier instructions to Colonial Governments that no arrangement must be come to with natives which involve any such definite policy and commit His Majesty's Government?

Mr. LONG

The remarks to which my hon. and Gallant Friend refers involve no modification of the principles on which the territories in question are being administered.
