HC Deb 21 February 1917 vol 90 cc1357-8W
Colonel Lord HENRY CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the hon. Member for Sheffield (Central Division) whether relatives of civilian prisoners in Germany are forbidden to send them sleeping suits, blankets, and tooth paste; and, if so, what is the reason for withholding from the prisoners these articles?

Mr. J. HOPE

The Army Council has found it necessary for military reasons to foribd the dispatch of blankets to British prisoners of war in Germany. Tooth paste is allowed to be sent if not packed in sealed receptacles.
