HC Deb 20 February 1917 vol 90 cc1174-5W
Mr. MacVEAGH

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, for the greater convenience of those interested, he will give directions that the Board of Trade inquiry into the loss of the schooner "Fulvia" will be held at Newcastle, county Down, instead of at Belfast; and if he will direct that, whether it be held in Belfast or Newcastle, evidence will be invited from all the members of the crew of the lifeboat?

Mr. ROBERTS

Arrangements have been made, in the interest of all concerned, to hold this inquiry at Belfast, and it is not feasible to alter those arrangements. Eleven lifeboatmen out of a crew of fourteen have been summoned as witnesses, and arrangements have been made to intimate to the three remaining men that they can attend the inquiry and give evidence, if they desire to do so, as witnesses called by the Board of Trade.
