HC Deb 15 February 1917 vol 90 c817W
Sir J. JARDINE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is in a position to make a statement as regards land and river transport in Mesopotamia; whether regular supplies of potatoes and fresh vegetables are provided for the troops at stations on the Euphrates line; and whether any nurses have reached the garrison at Nasiriyah?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I am glad to be able to reassure my hon. Friend that the situation as to supplies and transport in Mesopotamia is now very satisfactory. I shall be happy to give further details if my hon. Friend will speak to me privately. As regards the last part of the question, hospital accommodation is being provided at Nasiriyah, and as soon as it is ready, nurses will no doubt be sent there.
