HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 c2597W
Sir J. LONSDALE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he is aware that, contrary to the advice of the Irish Local Government Board, medical men of military age have been appointed to fill public positions in Ireland in preference to doctors who have returned from military service; and what arrangements are being made to secure doctors from Ireland to meet the urgent needs of the Army?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The first part of the question should be addressed to my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary. In regard to the second part, we have freely intimated our needs to the medical profession in Ireland, and are as anxious to obtain doctors from Ireland as from other parts of the country.
