HC Deb 02 April 1917 vol 92 c951W
Mr. PALMER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the number of mules and other transport animals with the British Salonika force is considerably in excess of establishment; and, if so, whether, in view of the existing shortness of tonnage and the number of ships required to maintain the supply of forage at Salonika, the number of transport animals there will be reduced?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The number of animals at Salonika surplus to establishment is not more than is required to provide an adequate reserve.
