HC Deb 02 April 1917 vol 92 c964W
Mr. DICKINSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the London General Omnibus Company have recently reduced the number of omnibuses running in London and for this reason have dispensed with the services of, or put on short time, drivers above military age whilst retaining on full time drivers of military age; and, if so, whether this practice has the sanction of the Board?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am aware that the London General Omnibus Company are reducing their services and the whole question of how any sulplus of labour thus arising is to be dealt with is, I understand, engaging the attention of the Department of National Service.
