HC Deb 02 April 1917 vol 92 cc962-3W
Mr. BOLAND

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether steps have been taken to inform the Board's representatives in Ireland as to the concessions which have been promised for the importation of the necessary amount of altar wine for religious purposes; and, if so, whether steps will be taken immediately to issue the necessary licences to those firms in Ireland who are regular importers of altar wine?

Mr. ROBERTS

Steps have been taken which, it is hoped, will avoid prejudice to the supply of altar wine, and applicants have been informed as to the conditions under which this wine will, if necessary, be admitted in excess of the proportion of wine generally which will be allowed to each importer.
