HC Deb 12 October 1916 vol 86 c206W
Mr. MACMASTER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to revise and consolidate the numerous Statutes relating to Income Taxes, so that the taxpayers may conveniently ascertain what their responsibilities are without roaming through a maze of Statutes extending over three-quarters of a century?

Mr. McKENNA

I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the reply which I gave on the 21st February last to a question on this subject by my hon. Friend the Member for East Islington. I am sending a copy to the hon. and learned Member, and may add that the examination of the draft Bill is being proceeded with as expeditiously as the pressure of work permits.
