§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Secretary of State for War if, in connection with the case of a man named Mates, discharged from the Connaught Rangers on 23rd 226W July, 1915, he will say if any question was raised regarding his age at the time of his enlistment or any subsequent occasion; if this man was admitted to hospital at the Curragh Camp on 6th April, 1915, suffering from erysipelas, so contracted through military service, followed by rheumatism, which necessitated his discharge; if he has twice since his discharge been ordered before medical military boards; if he will produce the medical opinion resulting from such examination; if this man has since his discharge been continually under medical treatment, and has furnished certificates to that effect without any question as to age, and, seeing that his family is in poverty, if he will, pending a reinvestigation of his case with the view to either pension or compensation, order the discharge of one of his sons from military service as the sole support of the family; and if he will state the reason why this man has been denied relief from Government funds?
