HC Deb 21 November 1916 vol 87 cc1251-2W
Major NEWMAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the effort's that are being made in this country to supply for the making of telephone appliances, buttons, combs, etc., a material known as erinoid to take the place of a German material galalith, formerly the only non-inflammable plastic material used in this country; and will the Government encourage the increase of its plant and output by an assurance that the policy foreshadowed by the Paris Resolutions will be adhered to?

Mr. PRETYMAN

I would refer the hon. and gallant Gentleman to the reply which was given to a question concerning a similar substance called Syrolit, put by the hon. and gallant Member for the Ludlow Division of Shropshire on Thursday last.
