HC Deb 09 November 1916 vol 87 c433W
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the house of W. Hampton, a well-known resident at Hurst Road, Erith, was raided on 25th October; if the police and military authorities failed to find any publications other than those which were lying openly on the tables; whether he is aware that a quantity of goods were taken away; and if he will say how soon they will be examined and returned?

Mr. FORSTER

This house was raided as stated, and certain documents were removed for examination. If any of these contravene the Defence of the Realm Regulations they will be detained; the remainder will be returned.
