HC Deb 09 November 1916 vol 87 cc422-3W
Mr. BYRNE

asked the Chief Secretary if the Government intend to take any steps to control food prices and supplies in Ireland; and if he is aware that almost all kinds of foodstuffs have increased 100 per cent. since the outbreak of war, whilst wages have in many cases not been increased by more than 10 per cent., especially in Government Departments?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. I would refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply given to a question asked by him on 26th October, to which I am unable to add.
