HC Deb 09 November 1916 vol 87 cc428-9W
Sir J. LONSDALE

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty if the two sons of the naturalised managing director of the British Mannesmann Tube Company still hold the Admiralty badge, which exempts them from being called up under the Military Service Act; and if he will state on what grounds these young men, who were only brought into the business since the outbreak of war, are considered entitled to exemption?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Badging arrangements are now in the hands of the Ministry of Munitions, The debadging of the persons referred to by my hon. Friend was recommended to that Department by the Admiralty on 3rd November, and I understand the firm has been so notified.
