HC Deb 14 March 1916 vol 80 cc1914-5W
Mr. WATT

asked the Minister of Munitions if he will explain why the Defence of the Realm Losses Commission have failed for so long a time to deal with the case of a farmer who has been compulsorily deprived of his farm; how many times has this case been postponed; and is it anticipated that it will be dealt with before the termination of the War?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The claim to which I understand my hon. Friend to refer is under investigation on behalf of the Ministry, and it presents certain difficulties which have necessitated consideration. The case has not yet been presented to the Defence of the Realm Losses Commissioners, and they are consequently in no way responsible for the delay. The matter will be expedited as far as possible.
