HC Deb 09 March 1916 vol 80 cc1746-7W
Mr. YOUNG

also asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state the general percentage of increase in wages on the last available calculation since the beginning of the War?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I regret that statistics are not available from which to compute the net effect of all the changes of wages including grant of War bonuses, which have taken place since the beginning of the War. Such information as can be given is contained in the monthly issues of the "Board of Trade Labour Gazette," and I am sending my hon. Friend copies of the issues for October, 1915, and January, 1916, in which are special articles on the subject.
