HC Deb 21 August 1916 vol 85 c2304W
Mr. P. WHITE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether Irish soldiers who enlisted for six years in 1909–10 will now have the option of retiring if so willed?

Mr. FORSTER

All serving soldiers, unless they have served a period of twelve years or more and have attained the age of forty-one, have to continue to serve for the duration of the War under Section 2, Military Service Act, Session 2.
