HC Deb 06 May 1915 vol 71 cc1291-2W
Mr. FERENS

asked the Under-Secretary for India (1) whether the education authorities of the provincial Governments have taken any action in regard to temperance teaching in schools, as suggested in paragraph 8 of the dispatch of the Secretary of State for India dated 29th May, 1914; and, if so, what; and (2) whether the provincial Governments have considered the feasibility of taking any action in reference to the provision of counter attractions to intemperance, as suggested in paragraph 6 of Circular Letter, No. 1766–1783–81 (Excise), of the Secretary to the Government of India, dated Simla, 18th March, 1914; and

whether he can give particulars of any measures which have been taken in this connection?
