HC Deb 15 March 1915 vol 70 c1778W
Mr. POLLOCK

asked the Postmaster-General whether the Estimates for the Post Office for 1914–15 included an increase of pay to surveyors' clerks in accordance with the recommendations of the Holt Committee; whether that increase has been made effective to the surveyors' clerks; and, if not, on what ground it has been withheld?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The recommendations respecting the surveyors' clerks are still under consideration, together with those affecting other clerical classes of the Post Office. The position is complicated by the Report of the Royal Commission on the Civil Service, upon which the Government has not yet reached a decision.
