asked the Secretary to the Treasury the total amount expended on the acquirement of land under the Small Holdings Allotment Act; the acreage required and the number of new holdings created; and whether any annual Report of operations under the Act is presented to Parliament?

Up to the 31st December, 1914, 198,288 acres had been acquired for small holdings, of which 139,478 acres were purchased for £4,601,692 and 58,810 acres leased at rents amounting to £74,186 a year. The number of holdings provided is approximately 15,000. An annual report of the proceedings under the Act is presented to Parliament each year. The Report for 1914 is now in the hands of the printers.
