HC Deb 04 February 1915 vol 69 cc157-8W
Mr. HOGGE

asked the Solicitor-General whether he will state the changes that have been made in the staff of the Press Bureau; the cost of the Press Bureau to the nation; and the Vote upon which these can be discussed?

Sir STANLEY BUCKMASTER

The answer to the first two parts of the question involve an investigation it will take some considerable time to complete. If the hon. Member desires such investigation to be undertaken, I should be glad if he would tell me as from what date he wishes the changes to be stated. The cost is included in the Votes for the Home Office, the War Office, the Admiralty, the Education Office, the Post Office, and the Office of Works.

Mr. HOGGE

asked the Solicitor-General whether he has examined the various statements issued by the Press Bureau with those contained in General French's dispatches; and what are the discrepancies?

Sir S. BUCKMASTER

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative; consequently the second part does not arise.
