HC Deb 26 November 1914 vol 68 c1338W
Mr. HUNT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether a circular has recently been issued by the Land Valuation Department stating that, if any of their clerks enlisted, their places would not be kept open for them after the War; and, if so, whether, seeing that this would prevent junior clerks from serving their country, he will have this regulation altered?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

No circular of the nature indicated by the hon. Member has been issued on the authority of the Board of Inland Revenue or of their Head Valuation Office, nor am I aware that any such circular has been issued locally. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.
