HC Deb 21 May 1914 vol 62 cc2158-9W
Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Secretary for Scotland if he has now considered the Report of the Departmental Committee on Inshore Fisheries and the fact that the Development Commissioners, with the sanction of the Treasury, have granted a loan of £4,000 for the purpose of assisting fishermen to install motors in fishing boats at four specified towns in the South of England; and whether, in view of the fact that the Minority Report of the Scottish Committee supports a somewhat similar proposal for Scotland and is practically supported by all the Scottish Members, irrespective of politics, he will give such Report his favourable consideration?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

The matter is still under my consideration; but I would remind my hon. Friend that the main Report of the Committee does not recommend the adoption of such a course as he suggests.
