§ Sir J. D. REESasked to what extent the increase of Anglo-Indians in the Punjab, disclosed by the Census Returns of 1911, is due to the fact that Eurasians now classify themselves under that heading who would have returned themselves as Europeans before the term Anglo-Indian was applied to persons of mixed blood; and whether any corresponding decrease has occurred in the number of Europeans in the province?
Mr. ROBERTSI find nothing in the Census Report of the Punjab that supports the explanation suggested by the hon. Member of the increase in the number of persons returned as Anglo-Indians in that province. The number of Europeans has also increased.
