HC Deb 17 February 1914 vol 58 c786W
Mr. FETHERSTONHAUGH

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that warrant and non-commissioned officers of the Royal Garrison Artillery, Royal Engineers, Army Service Corps, and Army Pay Department are granted furlough from Sierra Leone so that they can go direct to their homes from port of arrival, while officers of the Army Ordnance Department in like case have to go first from the port of arrival to report themselves at Woolwich, which in many cases involves much unnecessary travelling; and will he consider the desirability of removing this difference of treatment?

Colonel SEELY

This matter presents some difficulty, but will be further considered with a view to arranging for the men in question to proceed direct to their homes, if possible.
