§ Mr. NOEL BUXTONasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether a county council is entitled to remove a person from the list of approved applicants for small holdings on the ground that he has refused to take the particular piece of land that they have offered him; and, if not, what are the grounds on which he may be removed?
§ Mr. HERBERT LEWIS (for Mr. Runciman)If the offer is reasonable and there are no sufficient reasons why it should be refused, the Board of Agriculture are of opinion that a council is justified in removing the applicant's name from the list, but each case must be considered on its merits.
