§ Mr. FLAVINasked the Chief Secretary whether he has received resolutions from numerous old age pension committees in county Kerry asking that the Quarter Sessions Court should be substituted for the Court of Appeal in all cases relating to old age pensions appeals, and that the pension officers for the information of pension committees and the Court should submit a detailed statement showing how they arrive at or calculate the applicant's means; and, if so, whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
§ Mr. BIRRELLI have received resolutions in connection with the matter referred to, but I cannot see my way to suggest legislation with a view to transferring from the Local Government Board to the Quarter Sessions Court the determination of appeals in old age pension cases. I have no jurisdiction over pension officers, and cannot give them any such directions as is suggested by the hon. Member.
