HC Deb 02 April 1914 vol 60 c1376W
Mr. CROOKS

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, as 48 hours weekly is the working time in all War Office Departments, he will arrange for those men who are, by the nature of their employment, compelled to work longer to be paid overtime?

Mr. H. BAKER

The fact that certain classes, owing to the nature of their employment, work longer than forty-eight hours is taken into account in fixing their wages If special payment were made for overtime the normal wage would be correspondingly reduced.
