§ Mr. CARR-GOMMasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the complaints of the clerks employed by the Port of London Authority in the landed-wood department of the Surrey Commercial Docks, who maintain that the Authority are not carrying out the statutory obligations imposed by Parliament in Section 6 (1) of the Port of London Act, 1908; and whether he will cause some inquiry to be made into this matter?
Mr. BUXTONNo complaint from the clerks referred to has been received by the Board of Trade, and the matter does not seem to be one in which the Board of Trade would have any jurisdiction. Section 60 of the Port of London Act, 1908, which deals with questions concerned with the transfer of the officers and servants of the dock authorities to the Port Authority provides for an appeal to the Treasury in certain circumstances.
