HC Deb 24 June 1913 vol 54 c974W
Mr. O'DONNELL

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland on what grounds the, pension unanimously allowed to Mrs. Mary Allman, of Curaheen, Tralee, by the pension committee was appealed to by the, pension officer and refused by the Local Government Board?

Mr. BIRRELL

The appeal was made on. the ground that Mrs. Allman's means exceeded the statutory limit, and her claim was disallowed by the Local Government, Board on that ground. She and her husband are maintained on a, large farm of about 40 acres, which is well tilled and carries upwards of fifteen cows, in. addition to other stock; and the Board estimated that the value of her maintenance and other privileges to which she is entitled were worth more than £31 10s. a year.
