HC Deb 20 June 1913 vol 54 c675W
Mr. GUINEY

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will state the various schemes of public works to which the sum of £30,000, originally allocated to the South of Ireland, has been provisionally allocated by the Development Commissioners, and whether these Grants are in accordance with the Development and Road Improvement Fund Act, 1909?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. The Grants in question have nothing to do either with the Development Fund, or with the Irish Development Grant, but have reference to the sum of £93,000 repaid by the Fish, guard and Rosslare Railways and Harbour Company. Out of this sum Grants have been made to the Cork City Railways Company and in respect of Waterford Bridge, and the schemes now in progress or under consideration are a seawall at Tramore, schemes for the River Suir navigation, for the Blackwater and Bride navigation, and for improvements Dungarvan.
