HC Deb 31 July 1913 vol 56 cc755-6W
Major ARCHER-SHEE

asked the Post-master-General whether gang-hands employed in the engineering branch of the Post. Office are not paid for extra duty for time occupied in travelling, and that no time off in lieu is allowed, although the time occupied in travelling has been in excess of the normal hours of duty; and, if so, whether he will cause the regulations to be amended so as to allow of extra pay being given for extra duty performed?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

The question of payment for travelling time in the case of gang-hands and other classes has been brought before the Select Committee on Post Office Servants, and pending the issue of their Report I am unable to consider the question of altering the existing regulations.
