HC Deb 31 July 1913 vol 56 c756W
Major MORRISON-BELL

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the dissatisfaction amongst subscribers to the telephone in Exmouth owing to the continual interruptions of the service and to its general inefficiency; and, if so, whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I am not aware of any dissatisfaction amongst subscribers to the telephone system at Exmouth, but I am having local inquiries made, and will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as they are completed. A special test of the service was made as recently as the 17th June. Calls were then answered in six and a half seconds on an average, and 92 per cent. of them were answered within ten seconds. Sixteen subscribers were seen by an inspector, and all of them expressed satisfaction with the service.
