HC Deb 11 February 1913 vol 48 c721W
Mr. HACKETT

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether the Development Commissioners will give assistance, by way of free grants or loans or both, to landholders and others in Ireland who may form district drainage boards under Irish Drainage Acts; and whether he can state the terms upon which such free grants or loans will be made?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I am informed that the Development Commissioners will consider any application of the kind to which the hon. Members refers. The terms of any advance for the purpose must obviously depend to a large extent upon the nature of the scheme proposed. The hon. Member will find some further information on the subject at page 30 of the Commissioners' Second Annual Report.
