HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 cc2003-4W
Mr. LYNCH

asked the President of the Board of Education whether the results of medical inspection in the elementary schools of this country indicate an increase, or diminution, of tuberculosis, adenoids, caries of teeth, and defects of vision and hearing among school children; and whether it is possible to give, even roughly, an indication whether these maladies are relatively more common in urban than in rural populations?

Mr. PEASE

I can only refer the hon. Member to the Report of the Board's Chief Medical Officer for 1911 (Cd. 6530). The complaints referred to are dealt with on pages 64, 45, 47, 37, and 42. I am afraid the facts at my disposal do not enable me to give any further information.
