§ Mr. LYNCHasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the lantern 59W adopted by the Board of Trade for testing colour vision differs from the Edridge-Green lantern in having no mechanism for regulating the luminosity of the light shown; if not, whether he can state what is new in this mechanism, and what are the advantages peculiar to the Board of Trade lantern?
Mr. ROBERTSONThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the latter part, I do not think that in answer to a question, I can usefully enter into a discussion of the comparative merits of the Board of Trade lantern and other lanterns, but I shall be glad to make arrangements for my hon. Friend to inspect the Board's lantern if he so desires.
