HC Deb 14 April 1913 vol 51 c1644W
Mr. BOLAND

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether any steps have been taken to provide a boat slip at Cooscroum; whether he is aware that the present pier has been built where the fishermen used to haul up their boats, that in rough weather the sea washes over the present pier, that there is no room for a horse and cart to turn on the pier, and that horses have in consequence to be backed for several hundred feet; and whether steps will now be taken to provide an adequate slip so that the boats can be hauled up?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Congested Districts Board recently decided that they would not take any steps towards providing a boat slip at Cooscroum, a large sum of money having already been spent in building a pier at that place.
