§ Mr. J. WARDasked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been called to a recent meet-ins of the Stone Rural Council, and a report of the council's sanitary inspector as to the dilapidated condition of some labourers' cottages on the Trentham estate belonging to the Duke of Sutherland; and what action, if any, it is proposed to take in the matter?
§ Mr. BURNSMy attention had not been drawn to this matter until notice of the question appeared. I then communicated with the Stone Rural District Council on the subject, and am informed that the attention of the agent for the property had been drawn to the cottages in question, and that he had promised to effect the necessary repairs at once.
