HC Deb 22 October 1912 vol 42 cc1963-4W
Mr. WATT

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether Scotland is now under precisely the same regulations as to importation of store cattle from Ireland as England and Wales are; if not, why this difference should be made; and will it be rectified?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The regulations are the same for England and Scotland, and I have under consideration the addition of Scottish ports to the list of landing places, provided that the local authority concerned have not prohibited the introduction of Irish animals into their district and that suitable accommodation for the detention and supervision of the cattle is available or can be promised at the port to which they are brought.
