HC Deb 25 November 1912 vol 44 cc846-7W
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to a meeting on Monday last of the council of the National Education Association, at which a resolution was passed to the effect that the present condition of educational finance is a danger to progress, creates a serious deficiency of school accommodation and injures efficiency, and that educational reforms which are urgently needed should not be delayed by discussions as to the basis of rating and taxation; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. J. A. PEASE

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Government are at present considering the subject matters referred to, and I cannot yet say what action may be taken.
