HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 cc1873-4W
Mr. GINNELL

asked the Chief Secretary if he will specify the lands, buildings, and property in Ireland vested in or held in trust for His Majesty, with their extent and value, respectively, and where situate?

Mr. MASTERMAN

It would be impossible to give the detailed information within the limits of an answer; but, assuming that the question relates to property under the management of the Commissioners of Woods, the following information may be of service to the hon. Member. The Crown property in Ireland consists of quit and other fixed rents, amounting to about £25,000 per annum, issuing out of private lands in various counties. The area of lands under the Commissioners' immediate management is about 910 acres, of which about 630 acres are subject to common rights. These lands are situate principally in the counties of Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Queen's and Wexford, and produce a revenue of about £1,1000. Certain mineral and fishing rights also belong to the Crown, but the income derived is small and fluctuating.
