§ Mr. LYNCHasked the Chief Secretary whether, in regard to the case of the evicted tenant, Daniel Neylon, of the Stratford estate, county Clare, whose reinstatement has been frequently promised during the last few years, he is in a position to state when this reinstatement will take place; and, if not, whether steps will be taken by the Congested Districts Board to acquire land in the Kilfenora district, a portion of which may be available for Daniel Neylon?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners inform me that Daniel Neylon's application for reinstatement has been noted for consideration in the allotment of untenanted land, but the Commissioners are not yet in a position to state when they may be able to give him a holding.
§ Sir THOMAS ESMONDEasked the Chief Secretary if he will direct the attention of the Estates Commissioners to the case of John Eryes, an evicted tenant, of Wells, county Wexford, with a view to his being given a farm as soon as possible?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners have received an application from John Eryes for reinstatement in a holding formerly occupied by him on the Doyne estate, county Wexford. As his application was not received within the period limited by the Evicted Tenants Act, 1907, it cannot be dealt with under that Act.
§ Mr. LUNDONasked the Chief Secretary if Timothy Burke, of Pallasgrean, county Limerick, is to be handed back his farm this year, if so, how soon; has the present occupier of the holding been provided with an equivalent on the Cleary Minors estate; and, if so, what is the meaning of allowing this gentleman the possession of two farms; if Burke is to be handed over his evicted farm this year why are the cattle of the present occupier allowed to cut up and make a paddock of the entire farm; and from what date will Burke be recognised as tenant?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners inform me that the present occupier of Burke's former holding has agreed to transfer it to Burke on receiving a parcel of land on the Cleary Minors estate, and when the necessary deed of assignment is executed, Burke will be put in possession of his former holding as soon as practicable.
