HC Deb 19 June 1912 vol 39 c1807W
Mr. AMERY

asked the Home Secretary if he will state what steps he has taken to bring to justice the persons who on 10th June at Purfleet caused serious injuries to a dock labourer called Harrington?

Mr. McKENNA

The case to which the hon. Member alludes occurred within the jurisdiction of the Essex police. The superintendent of police informs me that he has endeavoured to discover the person who committed the outrage, but, as Harrington could give no description of him, except that he was a clean-shaven man, it has been impossible to trace him by this means. Further inquiries are, however, being made.
