§ Sir REGINALD POLE-CAREWasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether under the National Insurance Act the Insurance Committee would be prepared to take proceedings to compel the Admiralty or War Office to pay compensation for accidents to men employed in Government yards supposing they are certified to be entitled to it under the Workmen's Compensation Act, by a medical practitioner other than the surgeon in charge of the yard?
§ Mr. MASTERMANAn Insurance Committee can take action only if the insured person unreasonably refuses to do so. It will be for the Insurance Committee to decide before taking action, having regard to all the available evidence in each case, whether the man's refusal was unreasonable.
