§ Mr. BARNESasked the Postmaster-General why the Glasgow Branch of the Civil Service Socialist Society was refused permission to exhibit bills announcing its participation in the May Day demonstration in that town this year; and whether he is aware that this society is recognised by the Department, and that similar bills to those prohibited have been exhibited during the past four years?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe hon. Member is under a misapprehension. The Civil Service Socialist Society has no official connection with the Post Office. The Bill to which the hon. Member refers was an announcement of a public political demonstration; and it was therefore unsuitable for exhibition on Post Office premises.
