HC Deb 10 June 1912 vol 39 cc662-3W
Sir HENRY KIMBER

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that nothing has yet been done to improve the condition of the Wandsworth County Court which is much too small for the amount of business transacted at the court; and whether he will take steps to have the court reconstructed forthwith?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN

A sum of £2,000 has been voted for beginning the work of extension during the current financial year. Owing to legal delays in acquiring the site last year, the money provided for that purpose in the Estimates for 1911–12 was not spent, and the First Commissioner fears that the greater part of the sum voted for 1912–13 will be required to pay for the site.
